Gotoh's SG381 is one of the most trusted tuning machines in the business, and the MGT (Magnum Lock Traditional) variant adds a clean, no-fuss locking system without changing the classic look. You simply wind the string up to pitch and the Magnum Lock mechanism clamps it in place via the traditional thumbwheel, eliminating the need to wrap multiple string winds around the post. The result is faster string changes and noticeably more stable tuning.

These are the standard-fit tuners on Japanese Ibanez Prestige models, which tells you plenty about the quality and tolerances involved. The staggered-height posts suit Strat-style headstocks nicely, reducing string break angle over the nut and helping with tuning stability and string tension.
