No doubt identifiable as being the bass infamously associated with none-other than Sir Paul McCartney, the Hofner 5000/1 Deluxe Violin bass features an up-scale reworking of a truly iconic bass. This particular instrument was manufactured circa 1999, and even includes the original receipt, purchased originally in Germany where it was also manufactured. Gold hardware adorns the bass from top to bottom, which beautifully compliments the addition of pearloid tuning pegs. A German spruce top, and exceptional maple back and sides with a tight flame to the grain, come together (get it?) to present a high-end bass, that not only looks exceptional, but sounds it too.
Overall the bass presents in very good condition and plays well. The only odd aspect is a slightly recessed dot inlay on the 19th fret.
