1980s Roland G-707 & GR-700 Guitar Synthesizer Silver
$2,770.00
A suitably wacky and experimental offering from Roland!
Introduced in 1984, the combination of the G-707 guitar and GR-700 synthesizer offered a more expansive take on the previous incarnations of Rolands guitar synthesizers. Featured as a top of the line offering, the GR-700 offered a 6 voice, dual oscillator synth engine based on the Roland JX-3P. With an average response time of 29.88ms, these old units don't possess the same level of accuracy as modern tracking, however, they do make up for it with some seriously lush and beautiful sounds.
The G-707, partnered with the GR-700 unit, features an ash body construction in tandem with a maple neck that boasts an ABS stabilizer bar. Under the covers is a set of Roland humbuckers as well as premium hardware from the likes of Gotoh. Players such as Jimmy Page, Chuck Loeb, Al Di Meola, and many more, have been seen in the past sporting this futuristic instrument. Check out this old video to see it in use!
Cosmetic condition for its age is very good. The GR-700 unit presents well with minor cosmetic wear throughout. The G-707 guitar shows some play wear and patina to the pick up covers. Hardware and electronics from our testing appear to be fully functional, with the G-707 playing with a low action. Total package includes both the synthesizer and guitar unit, original case with the guitar as well as the original cable and M-16C cartridge. Missing the tremolo arm for the G-707.
