A gorgeous Lowden at an excellent price!
Founded in 1974 by Irish luthier, George Lowden, Lowden Guitars have been renowned for their exceptional build quality and unique tonal qualities. This particular example was produced under the Lowden name by Yairi in Japan, and is the S5 model, dating sometime around the mid 1980s. Composed of a solid spruce top in tandem with mahogany back and sides, this example also boasts a mahogany neck with a medium, soft 'V' neck profile. A pickup has been added at some stage.
Cosmetic condition is good for its age, showing signs of wear throughout in the form of scratches, dings, finish wear etc. There is a little bellying to the top, and the saddle is sitting on the low side. The nut has a few chips out of it, but is otherwise functional. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a medium action. Includes the original hardcase.
