1980 Shiro ES-175 Sunburst
$988.00
A cool ES-175 copy from Shiro!
Shiro appears to have been an offshoot from the Aria company, with this example most likely having been manufactured in the fabled Matsumoku factory. Taking clear inspiration from the famous Gibson-made 'ES-175', this example faithfully replicates the silhouette and feel of those examples. Appears to be a laminated fully hollow maple body in combination with what appears to be a maple neck and rosewood fretboard. Under the covers is a set of Maxon pickups dating to 1980 which appear to be original to the instrument and sound great. This neck features a 'C' shape profile with medium fullness. The remaining hardware on this instrument appears to be original from what we can tell. Sounds beautifully full and responsive, as any good ES-175 should!
Cosmetic condition is very good for its age with light play wear present throughout. There are an assortment of minor dings that adorn the front, back, and sides of the instrument. A scratch is noticeable from the low E tuner. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a low-medium action. Currently strung with flatwound strings. Includes a hardcase.
