A great sounding head from the Silverface period!

The Bassman has been released by Fender in many iterations going back all the way to 1952. Originally intended as a bass amplifier, these quickly found use with guitar players in subsequent decades due to their unique sound. Early examples existed in tweed covering before moving to a more conventional tolex in the early 1960s. This particular example dates to the silverface period, with its chassis serial appearing to indicate 1976 as the year of manufacture. Coming in at 50-watts, this example was initially offered as a piggyback with matching 2 x 15" cabinet. This particular example comes as a head only. With bass and normal inputs as well as a pair of three-band EQs, the Bassman 50 delivers plenty of volume and clean headroom as intended. From what we can tell (we are not amplifier technicians) this example appears to have had a three-prong cable added and wired to 240v. Tubes appear to be un-original. Everything else looks correct. State of capacitors is unknown. Sounds humungous!

Cosmetic condition is good for its age showing noticeable wear, yet appearing to retain it's original grill cloth and tolex. Hardware and electronics are fully functional.
