A pioneering instrument, the Mellotron was an early, primitive analog sampler utilising pre-recorded magnetic tape across a playback head to engage a sound with the aid of a keyboard. This is the sound you would most notably have heard during the intro to 'Strawberry Fields Forever' by the Beatles. The MEL9 from Electro Harmonix offers a digital recreation in a stomp box, designed with the guitar player in mind. Features nine selectable sounds including: Orchestra, Cello, Strings, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Brass, Low Choir and High Choir. Cosmetic condition is very good, showing only light signs of enclosure wear. Hardware and electronics are fully functional. Includes the original box.
