This variation of the SG Special emerged in 1972 of which it then received a couple of updates in 1973, noticeably a smaller bridge in place of the larger harmonica style. This example in an aged cherry finish features two amazing, original mini-humbuckers alongside a simplified pickguard and very cool block inlays.
Minus what appears to be a replaced set of tuners, this example presents beautifully with all the key features in tact. Interestingly, this instrument is outstandingly light and has little to no neck dive which is a bit of a rarity to find with these! The pickups sound incredible, with just the right amount of output and beautiful clarity. Cosmetically, this instrument is in great condition for its age, with the only significant detractor being a small gouge taken out of the back of the body.
Hardware is fully functional, and plays incredibly with a low action. Includes a non-original hard case.
