A fun guitar from a fascinating period of Japanese guitar manufacturing!
This particular example was more than likely manufactured by Kawai for one of their other brand names. Based off the headstock shape, more than likely Kingston or Sorrento. Pickups appear original to the instrument, and sound great in all their microphonic glory. Based off other examples, it appears the knobs have been replaced, as has the bridge unit, tuning machines, and looks like it has had a couple of non-original string trees installed.
Sounds really nasally and funky when plugged in. Cosmetic condition is banged up and road worn as you'd expect for one of these cheaper Japanese guitars from this time. Hardware is functional with the exception of the tremolo which seems to have its arm broken off, and plays with a low-medium action. Includes an aftermarket gig bag.
If you're after something weird and unique, this is the guitar for you!
