We are excited to offer this stunning Fender Custom Shop 50th Anniversary '64 L-Series Stratocaster!
This particular guitar features a beautiful 'Closet Classic' Sunburst finish with light lacquer checking over the body, a great example of Fender Custom Shop's lightly relic'ed finish which is designed to look like it's a guitar that has been sitting unplayed in a closet for 50 years!
We just recently had a 1963 in the shop, and we have to say this absolutely nails it and for a fraction of the price. The neck profile is spot on, the instrument feels and sounds right, even down to its vintage spec narrow frets and a 7.25" fretboard radius which are a joy to play. The instrument is also a beautifully balanced 3.4kgs in weight and feels fantastic on a strap.
Also featured are neck and middle pickups hand-wound and signed by Josefina Campos, the now famous apprentice of the legendary pickup winder Abigail Ybarra. The bridge pickup has replaced at some point in its life with another Fender Custom Shop bridge pickup which sounds equally great.
Included in the sale is the period correct hardcase with red lining, certificate of authenticity from the Fender Custom Shop, Fender leather strap and polish cloth.
