A killer S-style from Tokai!
One of the defining Japanese guitar manufacturers, Tokai delivered all kinds of Fender and Gibson copies that far exceeded their contemporaries in build quality and tone. This particular example comes from the Silver Star line and dates to 1980, with this model either being an SS-36 or SS-48. Appears to be a sen body with bolt-on maple fretboard. Three black bobbin alnico pickups are present internally, delivering plenty of spank and chime. Other notable features include a CBS-era headstock, three-bolt neck, and vintage-correct 7.25" fretboard radius. A great player from Tokai!
Cosmetic condition is good for its age, showing signs of wear in the form of dings and scratches throughout. A backplate is missing and there is a sticker on the back of the guitar. Pots are scratchy, but otherwise function correctly. Hardware is fully functional and plays with a medium action. Includes a generic gig bag. No tremolo arm.
