A great playing and sounding Norlin-era SG!
We've now had a few early 1970s Gibson SGs come through the store, and we're always taken aback by not only how great they sound and play, but also how light and resonant they are! Based off the serial and pot codes, this example dates to 1974. Other key appointments such as the harmonica bridge and neck volute are present and original to the instrument. This also features the original 'Gibson' branded Bigsby. It's a touch stiff, but with some extra movement will loosen up a fair amount.
Outside of what appears to be a non-original grounding wire and a hole that was formerly a strap pin and that has been dowled, the rest of the instrument presents as original. Cosmetically, this example is in very reasonable condition for its age with all the dings and scratches in the usual places, with a few present on the back of the neck.
Hardware and electronics are fully functional, with this example having a wondrously woody and articulate tone. Excellent clarity and note separation from these pickups! Includes what appears to be the original hardshell case.
