A seriously cool and funky example from Japanese manufacturer, Guyatone!

Out of the variety of manufacturers that emerged during the '60s guitar boom in Japan, Guyatone have always by and large put out some extraordinarily interesting examples. This particular example, dating to sometime around the late 1960s is an EB-8. Composed of a nato body in combination with a nato neck and rosewood fretboard, this example boasts a 34" scale length and quite a comically large body (and one seriously chunky neck). The electronics under the hood appear correct to this period. A single pickup with volume and tone, this example has a unique voice that exemplifies the magic some of these '60s examples can possess.

Cosmetic condition is good for its age, showing the expected signs of wear throughout in the form of dings, scratches, and assorted play wear. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a medium-high action. These examples do not possess a truss rod, with this example showing a noticeable forward bow. There has been some attempt in the past to flatten down the upper frets, whilst still now possessing some rattling from the 14th fret and up. Some of the earlier frets show crude rounding off of fret ends. Includes the original hardcase.
