A fascinating example from German instrument manufacturer, Hoyer!
A higher end offering, this Hoyer Special that dates to sometime around the mid 1950s to early 1960s was an export model for Australia. Featuring electronics right out of the factory with the pickups appearing to come from German pickup manufacturer, Ideal. Featuring a solid construction consisting of a spruce top and flame maple back and sides. Boasts a set neck construction with a 5-piece maple neck. An ebony fretboard is present with gorgeous mother of pearl inlays present throughout. With a lower bout width of 18 inches, this example is a commanding presence with an exceptional sound and assertiveness.
Cosmetic condition is very good for its age with the expected checking and play wear present throughout. At some point there has been a repair and finish touch up by the output jack. This example is missing its pickguard. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a medium action. Includes the original hard case.
