Established in 1899, Stella was an American guitar manufacturer with a focus on producing student to intermediate-level instruments of the time. Notably, due to the accessibility of these instruments, many famous artists such as Lead Belly, Willie Nelson and even Kurt Cobain played one, the latter most famously on the recording of 'Polly'.

This particular model is a compact parlour shape, made of Koa. Koa originates from Hawaii and is known for sitting sonically somewhere between maple and rosewood, specifically highlighted for its unique tonal properties once properly played in. This particular example has an incredible sound. Super articulate, balanced, and with a low-end that completely defies its size. Neck is a deep V, which is representative for many guitars around this time.

In regards to condition, the guitar is currently playing with a medium action and there are a couple of cracks on the back with a little movement, as well as a noticeable top crack below the bridge that appears to be stable.

Included in the sale is the original hard-case with the name of the original owner hand painted on the front, very cool!

Overall a wonderful guitar with so much history and life left in it!
