Dating to 1966, this example is composed of a laminated maple hollow body in tandem with maple neck and ebony fretboard. Fairly new for Gretsch, this example boasts an original set of Super'Tron pickups which sounds fabulous. It gets even more interesting when considering the included 'floating sound unit', effectively a tuning fork that the strings threaded through to produce overtones. This model also featured the 'T-Zone Tempered Treble System' which slightly offset upper frets to improve intonation. This example appears to retain its original electronics, mute system (which has probably been re-foamed at some stage), with the main changes being a replaced master volume knob and replaced strap pin at the base of the body. Easily one of the coolest and most interesting Gretsch models we've had through for some time!

Cosmetic condition is fair for its age, showing an advanced stage of binding rot with noticeable chipping to the body binding. Neck binding has splitting, but bar a spot at the first fret, is holding together. The rest of the instrument shows checking, dings, and scratches throughout. Hardware is fully functional, and plays with a low action. Includes the original hardcase and 'floating sound unit'.
